With a cloth tape measure, put it around your dog’s neck and insert two of your fingers between the tape measure and neck. Your two fingers will be the extra bit of space to keep the necklace from being too tight around the neck.

Which Size To Choose

Each size has a two inch chain added and the clasp can attach at varying points along the chain. Therefore a 10 inch Gem Guardian will fit neck sizes 10 – 12 inches. If, as an example, your dog’s neck is 11 inches, it’s best to choose the smaller Gem Guardian of 10 inches and use the chain to add the extra inch.
