I’d been designing jewelry for many years and it was natural that I began making necklaces for my beloved dog, Mansur, and his friends. Not only did they look stunning, but also dogs are extremely sensitive to the subtle healing benefits of natural gemstones. I noticed this, in particular, when I was recovering from a badly broken leg and my dog would spend hours by my bed pouring out his love and willing me to get better. It was taking its toll on him and he was losing weight. I’d been studying the traditional uses of gemstones as a source of well-being and I wanted to support him in every way I could. The upliftment he clearly experienced from the turquoise necklace I made for him was the inspiration for 4 Legged Designs and our line of natural gemstone necklaces and amulets.

Our line of collars and leashes were also inspired by Mansur who had developed a black ring on his neck underneath his collar. It was clear he was reacting to his synthetic and leather collars. I wasn’t able to find the kind of organic collar I wanted to replace this and so I developed the Harmony Collection of eco-friendly collars and leashes.

Our company is dedicated to bringing well-being and beauty to these amazing beings who teach us so much about love. We honor them and their guardians by supporting green and sustainable design in all our products.

The Shakers had a saying that if you need to make something useful, you might as well make it beautiful.
